On November 14, Mercy Multiplied hosted its annual Evening of Mercy event in Monroe, LA. Special guest Ellie Holcomb, Dove award-winning singer/songwriter, provided musical entertainment for the evening, and Nancy Alcorn, Founder and President of Mercy Multiplied, brought a message of encouragement and hope.

Al “big Al” Cherry served as Master of Ceremonies while 2016 Graduate, Sky, shared her testimony of hope and transformation. Sky spoke about how God is using her story to reach others saying, “I remember how broken I was before Mercy, and now God has introduced me to others who struggle with some of the same issues I did! I was once a dark sky and now I’m a bright sky for others!”

In addition to the regular program, Nancy Alcorn also took time to honor founding board member and Monroe community member, Jessie McCormick who recently passed away.

“Jessie was such a beautiful person who will be deeply missed,” said Alcorn. “As a founding board member, she was one of the first people in Monroe to believe in the vision of Mercy. She actually assisted me in finding the location of the home in West Monroe. Jessie was a foster mom to dozens and dozens of Mercy babies and cared for adoptive parents and birth mothers when they needed a place to stay. I remember that she always had a special way of calming babies and loved on them so well. Jessie served Mercy faithfully the majority of her life, and tonight it is only fitting to honor and remember her.”

At the end of the night, longtime supporter and friend of Mercy, Kay “Miss Kay” Robertson from Duck Dynasty addressed the attendees and encouraged them to give towards the incredible life-changing work God is doing at Mercy saying, “I wish I would have found out about Mercy sooner! I love supporting Mercy!”

“This was our best event yet!” exclaimed Caronda. “Not only did we double the number of new monthly partners from last year’s event, but we also had many attendees hear about Mercy Multiplied for the very first time. The people who attended just had a heart for Mercy, and we were so blessed to meet so many new people in the community.”

We want to give a huge thank you to all our supporters and sponsors!
