For over ten years, the St. Louis Mercy home has formed a special connection with a local community theatre: The Muny. This summer the St. Louis Mercy residents have had the privilege to attend several Broadway-style shows.

Every year, The Muny donates tickets to non-profit organizations like Mercy Multiplied as one of their missions to make exceptional musical theatre accessible to everyone. The Muny, in its 99th season, has a new show every week throughout the summer. The summer productions require a team of more than 600 people each week to bring the musical performance alive in Forest Park, a public park of St. Louis.

The St. Louis residents have attended: The Little Mermaid, All Shook Up, and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. They will also attend Newsies: The Musical.

Here’s what a few residents said about their experience:

“I have really enjoyed the opportunity to go to The Muny. Experiencing the arts has always been something I have loved to do. Going with the girls makes Mercy feel more like home for me because it’s what I would do with my own family. I am extremely thankful to the Muny for donating the tickets to Mercy.”

“The Muny is not only one of the most amazing places I’ve been to, but it’s always a beautiful performance. I would have never gone to a play if it wasn’t for The Muny donating tickets to Mercy. Having the chance to bond over the plays with the girls makes my time at Mercy wonderful. I am truly blessed because of The Muny.”

“Going to The Muny has opened my eyes to not only the love from others poured out over us, but also to my own heart’s cry for music. It’s confirmed in me my gift in music, and it’s given me more courage to step out and follow my dreams. I’m very thankful and humbled to get to be a part of this life-changing experience.”

“I really love going to The Muny! I love musicals, and I am very appreciative for the opportunity to be able to have the live experience. It’s definitely been a blessing to me.”

Mercy is thankful for partners like The Muny whose generosity has helped create unique opportunities for our residents. For more information on how you and your organization can partner with Mercy to impact the lives of young women, click here.
