In 2015, Shari started teaching fitness classes for Mercy’s residential program, but it wasn’t until she hit a breaking point in her marriage that she found herself seeking help. At a crossroads, she reached out to her friend explaining that she wanted a divorce. Her friend encouraged her to apply to Mercy’s Outpatient Counseling Program before making a final decision.

When Shari began counseling at Mercy, she realized that many of her struggles in her marriage stemmed from unresolved issues in her past. Shari was empowered to do the work necessary to heal and understand her true identity as a child of God. Her time at Mercy saved her marriage and gave her the tools to walk in freedom and confidence. She now leads Bible studies, shares what she’s learned with others, and uses the tools she learned at Mercy to share the good news in her community.
