In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to resource and encourage you no matter what you are going through.
Maybe you’re in a season of joy and your relationship with the Lord has grown closer than you could ever imagine. Or maybe you’re in a season of grief and loss, and you feel great distance between yourself and your Heavenly Father. In times of joy or in times of sadness, God’s Word remains the same and is something we can always count on for its healing effect on our mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
We compiled a list of encouraging scriptures full of God’s truth about us to encourage you or someone you love who may be struggling with their mental health. Check out these 10 scriptures and speak them over your life today!
“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
“He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
“He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.” Isaiah 40:29
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7
“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30:5
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:31,33
“So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.” 1 Peter 1:13
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2
