While the world faces this pandemic, Mercy wants to highlight some good news and incredible acts of generosity. Last week, our residents received a special surprise from Sadie Robertson and the Live Original Fam!
“When Live Original approached us with the idea to donate books to our residents, we were so excited about the opportunity,” said Director of Fundraising, Lauren Hobar. “The residents in our home are dealing with a number of life-controlling issues, including depression, anxiety, addiction, abuse, and suicidal thoughts, to name a few. Sadie’s book is a great source of encouragement to our residents to truly live and embrace who Christ created them to be. We are so appreciative of the kindness and generosity of Sadie and her followers.”
Sadie Robertson and her team posted on social media, challenging people to donate 500 copies of Sadie’s new book LIVE to send as an encouragement to the Mercy residents during this difficult time of quarantine.
“This book is a fresh breath of life for anyone who reads. In this crazy season of life, we wanted to bless 500 girls by partnering with Mercy Multiplied. Our hope is to donate these books for girls to read as they are recovering from depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders and more!” – Live Original
The response was amazing, and all of our Mercy homes received a shipment of these donated books alongside letters from the Live Original Fam, and a special video message from Sadie Robertson.
Our Mercy staff were able to reveal this surprise to the residents, and each young woman received her very own personal copy! Our residents were so excited and moved by this act of generosity and cannot wait to read this book as they continue to focus on their healing.
“The residents were so thrilled to receive Sadie’s book LIVE. Several of them started reading it immediately,” shared Sacramento, CA Program Assistant Angela Buesan. “They also really enjoyed watching the personal video Sadie made for them.”
Thank you to Sadie and all the Live Original Fam for your generosity and making an impact in the lives of our residents!
