Rachel – 2014 Graduate
Before coming to Mercy, I had a lot of anger from my parents’ divorce. I was also made fun of growing up and dealt with rejection a lot. I coped with it all through promiscuity, dysfunctional relationships, cutting, drinking and drugs.
I found out about Mercy through both my mother and a friend. I decided to apply to because my way wasn’t working anymore. I was dying, and I needed help. After touring one of the homes, my mother and I knew this was the place that would save my life. When I arrived at Mercy I was deceitful and manipulative. I was in such a state of confusion and in a complete daze.
Through this program, God has given me a second chance at life. I am full of joy, peace, and love. He has freed me from all addictions and my depression. He even healed me of the back pain I suffered from for over 10 years. I know the plan and purpose on my life now.
After graduation, I plan on going back home to live with my mom. I will get involved in my church and a prison ministry. I plan to take voice and piano lessons, and I hope to pursue a career in music. I also want to enroll in ministry school and just live for God as He guides my steps.
Mercy has literally saved my life. I am beyond grateful for what God has done for me through the Mercy donors and the staff. I’m a completely different person now all thanks to God and Mercy.
