Pamela grew up in a Christian home, but after family trauma when she was a teenager, she wanted nothing to do with God. Soon after, she entered a physically and sexually abusive relationship, and began struggling with drug and alcohol abuse. As a result of this, Pamela lost hope, and attempted suicide on three separate occasions, and soon found out that she was pregnant. After hearing about Mercy from a woman at her church, she decided to apply.
Upon entering the doors of Mercy, Pamela was met with peace and love that was unlike anything she had ever felt before. At Mercy, Pamela truly felt like she found her worth in Christ and the ability to love herself so that she can love others. Now, her daughter Destiny aspires to be like her mother, and thanks Mercy for providing her mother with the tools to be the incredible and inspiring person she is today.
