Michelle – 2014 Graduate
I grew up feeling ashamed due to sexual experiences I had from age four to age seven. I felt unnoticed in my family. I got into trouble at home and used drugs. I also self-harmed and eventually developed an eating disorder.
My mom was the first person to tell me about the Mercy program. I was tired of seeking help from every other avenue, so I filled out the application. Although I was desperate for help, I was initially afraid of opening up and trusting.
While at Mercy, a big turning point for me came when a guest speaker came to the home and taught us all how to hear from God. This helped me open up to receive what I needed from Mercy.
During my time at Mercy, God has renewed my mind. I’ve learned how to show myself grace and how to control my emotions.
After graduation, I plan to work and get involved with my church. I also hope to attend school to become a teacher.
Thank you, Mercy donors, for giving me the opportunity to restore my hope in God and find freedom from my pain!
