Mercy Welcomes New Friends into Homes This Fall
November 1, 2017
Last week, many gathered across the country in two Mercy Multiplied homes for a Friends of Mercy Luncheon. The Monroe and St. Louis Mercy homes held a luncheon for guests to learn more about the mission of Mercy Multiplied. A highlight of the program was the life-transforming testimonies from current Mercy residents and past graduates.
During the beautiful, fall afternoon, guests at the St. Louis home heard testimonies from a current resident and 2011 graduate Kim. Kim shared that while at Mercy, she learned God is a God of love, mercy, and justice. She overcame her past struggles with an eating disorder and depression. Kim is now married and has fully restored health.
“The St. Louis residents were so welcoming and there was a great atmosphere in the home. I believe many seeds were planted that day!” said Alisa Reale, St. Louis Mercy Multiplied Development and Community Relations Manager.
Mercy Multiplied supporter and community board member, Scott Luecal, also spoke at the luncheon.
Monroe guests enjoyed a complimentary lunch while they learned more about the history and mission of Mercy Multiplied. Guests also heard a special testimony from 2005 Mercy Graduate, Jess.
Mercy is set to host upcoming luncheons at its Sacramento and Nashville homes on Thursday, November 2nd and Tuesday, November 7th, respectively.
Each luncheon features a complimentary meal with current Mercy residents, during which the guests hear inspiring stories of hope and transformation and have the opportunity to tour our home. Mercy staff will discuss the many resources and programs designed to equip guests to help others struggling with life-controlling issues like addictions, eating disorders, self-harm, and the devastating effects of physical and sexual abuse, including sex trafficking.
“These luncheons provide a rare opportunity for our guests and residents to spend time together. The atmosphere at these luncheons is like no other event because the residents love hosting a party in their home, hearing their peers’ testimonies, and visiting with the guests,” said Janet Master, Nashville Mercy Multiplied Community Relations Manager. “The post-luncheon tours are led by the residents, and it provides an exclusive opportunity to see the home through the lens of the girls who live there.”
Mercy is thankful to all those in the Mercy communities who attended the luncheons and can now carry the mission of Mercy to others.
If you’d like to attend the upcoming Nashville luncheon, please RSVP by Friday, November 3rd. For more information on how to get involved with Mercy Multiplied in your community, visit Mercy’s event page or call 615-831-6987.
