Last weekend, the Monroe Mercy Multiplied residents attended the Freedom Crusade at Word of Life Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The first night of the annual Freedom Crusade on Saturday was a night of worship led by Ricardo Sanchez. Sanchez is a Christian artist and Dove Award-winning songwriter. Mercy residents had front row seats and enthusiastically worshiped during the service.
Pastor Sam Carr, the founding pastor of Word of Life Center, gave Mercy residents a shout out from the stage. Pastor Carr said, “I love watching the Mercy girls come up and worship. They’re special guests, and we’re happy to have them with us.”
Pastor Carr served on the Mercy Multiplied Board of Directors for 30 years. Carr and his wife Becky were involved in helping place Mercy’s first 60 babies with adoptive families. The Carrs eventually adopted their third child through Mercy Multiplied.
Under Pastor Carr’s leadership, the Freedom Crusade has been an annual event to the Word of Life Center for many years. “Freedom Crusade is not designed to have big crowds. It’s designed so the Holy Spirit can have freedom to minister to you,” said Pastor Carr.
On Sunday night, Pastor Carr spoke about attaching faith to your life. He shared an encouraging message on how to have joy in life even through adversity. “You have to grab hold of joy in your faith. Joy is not based on your circumstances,” said Pastor Carr.
Pastor Mark Brazee also spoke at the Freedom Crusade. He and his wife Janet have traveled throughout the world sharing the Word of God. They now pastor World Outreach Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mercy Multiplied is grateful to Word of Life Center and the Carr family for including Mercy residents in this powerful weekend event. Visit our Support Us page to learn how you and your church can join in Mercy’s work and mission.
