Mercy Multiplied Empowers Leaders at Recent Workshops
July 21, 2016
Church and community leaders from 17 different states visited Nashville last week to attend the Guidelines and MPower Workshops presented by the Mercy Multiplied Outreach team. In putting on these workshops, Mercy’s desire is to equip men and women who seek to serve as helpers for those in their communities with life-controlling issues.
During last week’s Guidelines Workshop, the attendees learned about a variety of areas in relation to opening their own residential programs, such as Development, Human Resources, Intake, and Transitional Care Services. They heard from five Mercy staff members on these topics, received a tour of the Nashville home, and enjoyed a panel discussion led by some of Mercy’s home staff.
Throughout the two-day MPower Workshop, attendees heard from Mercy staff regarding steps they can take to safeguard themselves as helpers and gained key insight into specific life- controlling issues. They were also taught other tools that Mercy has used over 33 years of ministry, including the 7 Keys to Freedom, Choices that Bring Change, and the Why Behind the What.
Jen Otero, Mercy Outreach Ambassador and Resource Development Specialist, was amazed at the heart work the Lord did in the attendees. After the event, she said, “Many of them attend the workshops to gain information and grow in their craft, but leave with revelation for themselves, their own healing journey, and their personal relationship with the Lord as a son or daughter.”
Mercy also received incredible feedback from the attendees:
“I’m leaving this weekend forever changed. Thank you.”
“[The workshops] are an incredible resource to people who are compassion-gifted and called to love people…This really is a ‘basics’ type of teaching that is absolutely transformational. This is the gospel. Great! Loved it!”
“I’m leaving the workshops feeling refreshed, encouraged and ready to take this information to other people. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!”
