Before Mercy, my life was filled with many changes. My mom was married twice, and neither relationship was healthy. I watched my mom experience being hurt many times, and it was very hard to watch.
When I got older, I found myself repeating the same pattern. I started dating in high school, met my high school sweetheart, and that relationship became unhealthy. The cycle continued, and I ended up dating someone who struggled with drug use. At 20 years old, he was living in my home but was not being supportive. Things were getting worse, and I became pregnant with my youngest daughter. I was so broken because she was not living with me, but I learned to push through.
At one point, I was in and out of mental health hospitals and shelters. That was when I found out about Mercy. During my time at Mercy, I have loved getting to know the staff and have learned through so many teachings. Worship nights at Mercy were my favorite!
My life after Mercy will include going back to college and getting my bachelor’s degree in health care management, getting my children back, and pursuing my dreams of singing.
