Before coming to Mercy I was hurting from abuse in my past. I was coping with my hurt by controlling what I ate and how my body looked. From an early age I suffered with false thoughts about myself. I became rebellious and promiscuous. When I was taken advantage of, I further responded in unhealthy habits of eating and exercising. I was desperately trying to fill a void with all the wrong things.
I found out about Mercy through a former counselor. I decided to apply because I knew I had strayed too far from God. When I arrived at Mercy, I was a broken mess. I was in an ungodly relationship and making poor decisions that I knew were wrong. I was wondering what my purpose was, and I felt like I was just going through the motions of my days.
The biggest turning point for me at Mercy was when I really dug deep and allowed God to work in me. I decided to partner with Him and address the roots of my past.
While at Mercy, God truly redeemed and revived me. He has become my all-time love, and I’ve learned that He is my everything. I am His beautiful beloved daughter, so it does not matter how anyone tries to define me. I have learned that my worth is all in Him.
In the future I hope to be a mom and have a family. I am planning on getting my certification in personal training and writing a fitness book to help young women out of the bondage that I was in.
I want to take this moment to thank all who sponsor Mercy! Without you, there would be lots of girls still in bondage. Thank you for being a part of God’s kingdom, and for helping me find true freedom. You saved my life!
