LaNysse – 2014 Graduate
I grew up with two amazing parents, but I didn’t listen to them. I did what I wanted, even if I knew it was wrong. I am so thankful for the ways my parents and siblings loved me and tried to protect me, even though I wasn’t always making the best choices. I would throw myself at any guy, longing for love, affirmation and attention. I lost my virginity when I was 14 years old, and I wish that had never happened. But I know now that God has made me whole again.
My parents discovered Mercy while searching for residential places for me online. After learning about everything Mercy had to offer, we printed off the application, and I applied.
Since coming to Mercy, my relationship with God has really grown. The friendships I have developed here are amazing as well. Coming to Mercy has shown me how important it is to have friends who build me up.
I was truly transformed during my time in the Mercy program. I was able to give all the bad things holding me back to God. I was set free. Coming to Mercy has shown me how to be who God has called me to be.
After Mercy, I plan to attend college, and one day, I hope to work with kids who have special needs.
I just want to thank Mercy donors for taking the time to bless us Mercy girls. There is no way I would be able to be here without your generosity. Thank you!
