Go Back to Lives Transformed

Kelsey – 2017 Graduate

Kelsey | 2017 Mercy GradI was diagnosed with a skin disease, and because of it, I struggled with my self-image and self-confidence. On top of that, I witnessed my mother get abused. Later, my grandparents passed away, which is when I sunk deeper into my depression. I blamed God and hated Him for everything.

I learned about Mercy Multiplied from my mother. She came home one night from work after a coworker told her about it and encouraged me to apply. I decided to apply because I was tired of going through life just being unhappy and blaming God, when deep down, I wanted to have a closer relationship with Him.

A turning point during my Mercy journey was after I took a shower and was getting dressed. As I was getting dressed, I looked in the mirror and said to myself, “You are beautiful. God loves just the way you are.”

God has given me my self-confidence back. I look at what I have gone through as a testimony. God has given me the strength to endure the toughest times. He has allowed me to forgive others and myself.

After Mercy, I plan to stay grounded in church. I would like to be able to work in the church and to volunteer in the community. I would eventually like to attend bible college after I return home.

Thank you, Mercy donors. It is because of you that I was able to come to Mercy free of charge. If it weren’t for the donors and for God giving you the generosity to give, I wouldn’t be at Mercy.
