Ever since I could remember, my home was filled with alcoholism, physical and verbal abuse. I experienced frequent abandonment and trauma during my childhood. The circumstances forced me to take care of my younger siblings. Around this time, I was also kidnapped and sexually abused. A few years later, the police came and took my brothers and I away from our family, and we were taken into an orphanage. It was at the orphanage that I was first introduced to smoking and promiscuity. I asked one of the staff at the orphanage to find a new family for me and my brothers.

Not even a year later, this family adopted my siblings and I, and we all went through a name change. Years later, when I was 19 years old, I entered a relationship that resulted in more sexual abuse. I was so far away from God that I did not want to hold on to my Christian principles. I realized that I needed help and therefore applied to come to Mercy Multiplied.

When I walked through the doors of Mercy, I was welcomed with open arms full of Christ’s love. It was during one of the conferences here at Mercy that God changed the direction of my life as well as my healing journey. The Keys to Freedom book helped me to get the healing that I truly needed. It helped me to process my trauma as well as identify and confront the emotions and thoughts that I was feeling. Today, I am walking hand-in-hand with God as I continue to use the tools that I learned at Mercy and apply them to my daily life.

My heart overflows with joy and gratitude for having this great opportunity to heal. I just want to say a heart-felt, “thank you” to all the donors who made my healing from trauma possible. You are truly one of the greatest blessings to me.
