Last week, we were blessed to have over 370 supporters in 30 states join us for our reimagined event Walk for Freedom: Pray with Purpose! As of today, we have raised over $35,000 to help more people walk in freedom. Our supporters continue to bless us abundantly with their generosity and willingness to partner with us to provide opportunities for everyone to experience God’s unconditional love, forgiveness, and life-transforming power.

Participants updated us throughout their week on social media, and we were so happy to see the amazing teams, creative routes, and support from all over the country and beyond! Some people took their steps in local parks, while others walked on hiking trails or simply ran in their neighborhoods. Many teams saved their steps for the final day of the week to walk together in support of Mercy Multiplied’s programs and resources!

Our Senior Director, Engagement & Development Strategy, Lauren Hobar, had this to say about this year’s powerful enhanced walk week:

“It’s been really special to think of people all over the United States and even in Canada praying over our ministry. Prayer is incredibly powerful, so seeing and thinking of people all over the world praying diligently and fervently for us this week is amazing!”

Here are some of the encouraging comments we received from our residents about their experiences during this year’s week of walking for freedom:

“I’m walking for freedom because I am tired of surviving. To be free means to actually live.

Participating in the Walk for Freedom meant to me: That I am not a victim of the lies that I lived under, but I am empowered to rise up because I have the authority in Christ.”

“I’m walking for freedom because I’ve come to the realization that I needed to be freed from my spiritual chains. I realized that I no longer wanted to live in the harmful cycle of my past. All it did was bring harm, trauma, and physical, mental, and spiritual health. Therefore, I decided to take the risk of walking my journey of healing hand-in-hand with Jesus.”

“Thank you to every donor who has made it possible today to Walk for Freedom. I wouldn’t have been able to do it if it weren’t for the empowerment I felt in Christ. When I was running, a lot of strongholds were breaking down. I decided to run for freedom because I am breaking generational patterns, and I have made a choice to be transformed by the renewing of my mind.”

A special thank you to this year’s sponsors Jessup University, 99.1 JOY FM, Bridgeway Christian Church, and Team Lucas, for supporting us this year and partnering with us to see more lives healed and transformed through Christ! We are also so thankful to everyone who fundraised, donated, and participated in this year’s Walk for Freedom: Pray with Purpose!
