Gina – 2011 Graduate
Before Mercy, I was consumed every single minute of every day with counting calories and losing weight. I was focused on it all day and couldn’t even enjoy food. I struggled with people-pleasing, control issues and perfectionism. When I wasn’t exercising, I was in bed, depressed, crying and not wanting to be alive. I had no life and no relationships. My brother knew someone who graduated from Mercy and he told me about the program. I wanted freedom from the eating disorder and depression and wanted to grow closer to God, so I decided to apply.
While at Mercy, one of the biggest things I learned was that I can have a close relationship with God. He cares about every single part of my life, and I will never be alone. My worth comes from God, not from how I look.
After graduation, I will go back to high school and take some early college classes at a local university. I LOVE Mercy!
