2018 Graduate Update
“Beginning at age six, I was sexually abused. By age 10, the abuse escalated to sex trafficking. I fell into a deep depression and began self-harming. Because of my distorted self-worth, I felt as if my only option in life was to become a stripper. When I arrived at Mercy, I was full of shame and guilt. But God showed me who I was through learning who He is. He restored my confidence and self-worth. I learned that my past does not define my future. Now I live every day with passion and purpose! I am currently enrolled in ministry school and have completed an internship working with at-risk youth. I plan to start a non-profit safe haven for vulnerable youth to give them the same love and support that I once needed when I was in their position.”
