“Feel Good Project” in Mercy Nashville Home
November, 18, 2016
The residents of Mercy Multiplied’s Nashville home received a fun and special treat last week. The Mercy staff arranged a “Feel Good” day for the residents to experience some pampering. Through connections in the area, Nashville Household Manager, Laurie Arritt, arranged for three stylists to come into the home for the day and provide haircuts, hair styling, and make-up and hair tips!
For the majority of the day, residents rotated in and out of individual hair and make-up sessions. Many residents excitedly came prepared to their styling time with print-out images of new and bold haircuts they had decided to try. We are so grateful for Heather Thompson and Brittnie Bern from Bee Hive Salon in Murfreesboro, TN, who spent the day cutting and styling residents’ hair. They kept the girls laughing and eagerly helped them try a new bold look.
After each resident’s make-over was completed, staff took photos of them by the beautiful fall trees in bloom! The entire day was a fun break from the routine of normal life in our Mercy homes.
The Mercy residents had this to say about the day:
“I really liked it! Because of my skin tone, I’m not sure what colors to wear, so I don’t normally wear make-up. Lydia helped me find the right colors and helped me with eye liner application!” – Charlotte
“It was very fun, and I loved talking to the lady who did my hair!” – Kailey
“It was so cool to see all the girls with new hair styles!” – Tori
“I was just going to get my hair trimmed, but after seeing everyone with cute new hair cuts, I decided to get myself a cute new “do” too!” – Corrin
“It was so fun to spend the afternoon getting pampered!” – Alexis
