I grew up in very dysfunctional households, but I knew my parents were trying to love me to the best of their abilities. My mother was abusive and mentally unstable. She battled with a drug addiction and abuse from all of her relationships. My father was very apathetic, passive, and an overachiever. He was also a workaholic, which led him to abuse alcohol and become withdrawn from my family.
I came across Mercy Multiplied online and decided to apply because I was at my lowest point in life. I recognized that I needed healing from my eating disorder and transformation from my dysfunctional lifestyle. I was really inspired by the testimonies of the residents who graduated and shared how Mercy changed their lives.
During my time in the program I had a huge breakthrough in counseling as I started working through my past. I was able to be real about my emotions surrounding past hurts and eventually discovered my true identity.
Through my journey I learned the truth about God’s unconditional love. He restored my perspective about my identity as His child and allowed me to understand that I have value.
After Mercy I will be transitioning into another program to continue my healing and prepare for the next season of my life.
I sincerely want to thank everyone that contributed their time and other resources to help girls like me find Mercy. You have made a huge impact on my life, especially with the love that I felt being at the home. Thank you for being a part of my freedom experience.
