Danielle – 2015 Graduate
I had a good childhood, but later in life I got involved with the wrong people and ended up in some very emotional, mental and verbally abusive relationships. I turned to drugs and promiscuity to numb the pain. I stole money from my job to support my habit, and I lied to and abandoned my kids many days due to my addictions.
I was at a women’s conference at my church when I met a Mercy graduate who recommended the program to me. After finding out more on the website, I chose to apply.
One of my biggest turning points at Mercy was seeing the changes in myself after I went home on Christmas break. My future plans had changed because of my children, and I realized that God brought me to Mercy for their sake as much as my own.
I couldn’t possibly describe all God’s done for me during my time at Mercy, but I have come to truly know what love is in its purest form. He has softened my heart.
After graduation, I plan to help jump-start an outreach program at my church. I also plan to share my story throughout my community and start a Bible study once a week at my church based on lessons I’ve learned here.
To Mercy supporters, I do not have enough time or space to thank you enough, but if I could say one thing, I would say thank you for your obedience to God.
