Cydney – 2015 Graduate
As a child I did not receive the attention I needed. Being the baby of the family, I was always perceived as the perfect child. Inside I was scared of everything and was continually trying to perfect myself.
My mom found out about Mercy through one of my sister’s friends at church. I decided to apply because I was suicidal. I knew that I could not continue living the way I was. When I arrived I was nervous but hopeful. I just knew this had to be the answer I was looking for.
A major turning point during my time at Mercy was gaining a clear perspective on what happened in the Garden of Eden and realizing that God loves us unconditionally, no matter what we do or what we have done.
Before I came to the Lord, my whole body was consumed with nervousness, and I was scared of everything. But while I was at Mercy, God worked a miracle in my life. I am a miracle.
After graduation I will return home to my loving supportive family and continue my job search. I plan to follow the voice of the Lord. Wherever He wants to take me, that is where I want to go.
I want to say special thanks to all the Mercy donors. Thank you for saving my life! Thank you for all that you have done! You are donating to more than just a program—it is a safe haven where girls are able to go and have the life they have always dreamed of. Girls get the opportunity to have their hope restored and their lives transformed. A thank you from me will never fully show my gratitude.
