Crystal – 2016 Graduate
As a child I was physically and sexually abused until my adult years. I also experienced a lot of abandonment.
In 2014, I learned about Mercy through a program called Teen Challenge. A staff member personally owned a copy of the book “Mercy For Self-Harm: Beyond Cut.” She gave it to me as an assignment, and after leaving Teen Challenge, I came to Mercy in search of freedom.
While I was at Mercy, I began an intimate relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I learned to surrender complete control of my life to Him and learned the keys to finding freedom in Him in my daily life. God also taught me to be quick to forgive. He freed me from the pain of my predators. I forgave them, and I pray blessings upon them.
God has taken me from being a victim to a victorious woman of God. I now have a spirit of peace instead of one of fear. He has healed me personally from PTSD night terrors from the sexual and physical abuse. My anger with God is completely erased, and I have discovered He is not my enemy. I am forgiven and my daily purpose is to walk in obedience to God. God created me to build up, encourage, and edify those around me. His purpose is for me to be His light bearer to the world. God shines His light through me. In my freedom I am walking in JOY for the first time in my LIFE!
My plan after graduating from Mercy is to serve in ministry at the Dream Center. My dream is to someday work for Mercy Multiplied!
Thank you to the Mercy donors for being obedient to God. You have been used as an instrument in helping the hopeless become the hopeful. Thank you for your faithfulness and prayers. Thank you for showing me the LOVE of Christ! Thank you for your devotion to God and for fulfilling His purpose in being His ambassador. I love you! God used you as an instrument to revive my soul.
