Chelsea – 2014 Graduate
Before I came to Mercy, I was involved in ministry and was always focused on taking care of everyone else. I was trying to do what I thought the Lord wanted me to. I was doing what I felt I was “supposed” to do. It was exhausting, and I was miserable. Depression, unhealthy eating, people-pleasing, over-commitment and running took over my life.
I heard about Mercy through a friend who had graduated from the program. Because of her experience, I decided to apply.
A huge turning point for me at Mercy was when I realized that I had not been living as if the Lord already loved me. I had been striving to be worthy of what He had already given me. Things changed when I started to believe the Lord’s love for me and began to receive the life He wanted to give me.
While at Mercy, God has taught me to receive and live in His love. I am learning to live in balance and peace rather than chaos and depression. I know that as I stay in the Lord’s presence, I will continue to live in peace and experience His joy.
After graduation, I want to get involved with the local church and build an accountability team to help me seek the Lord’s direction. I plan to work in a corporate setting and serve others in that capacity.
To all of Mercy’s donors, thank you for blessing me by supporting Mercy. My life has changed from chaos and depression to balance and peace. Jesus has captured my heart and in His presence, I am healed. I have a bright future. Thank you!
