As a teen, I struggled with anxiety and depression. I developed an eating disorder and began self-harming. After several years and no success with a partial hospitalization program, a mentor gave me the book Mercy for Eating Disorders by Nancy Alcorn. I read it and decided to apply to Mercy.
At Mercy, the compassion I felt from the staff and other residents was overwhelming. I developed a relationship with God and found true freedom by learning to replace the lies I believed with the truth of God’s Word.
After graduating from Mercy, I finished high school and married my amazing husband while we were in college. I obtained my master’s degree in social work and run an art therapy group for people with eating disorders. I also have my own small business selling my artwork, and I love it! I have the heart to see others experience the same freedom I have found!
