I started using drugs when I was 14 years old, and by the age of 18, I was hooked on heroin. I battled my drug addiction for nine years.  At the age of 26, I was raped at a party in my own apartment. I was so covered in shame and no longer cared to live. Every time I used drugs, it became a gamble for my life.

I heard about Mercy from my old youth pastor who mentored a previous graduate of the program. I knew I needed to apply to Mercy when I overdosed and realized that if I didn’t try treatment with God at the center, that’s how I would die.

My biggest turning point at Mercy was when I decided to forgive myself. This choice freed me from the bondage I had experienced for the past ten years. God has really shown me His unconditional love. He has given me a voice and helped me realize my value in Him.

After graduating from Mercy, I will be living with my parents, working, getting involved in my church, and pursuing a mission’s trip.

I want to thank the donors for supporting Mercy! Without them, it wouldn’t have been possible for me to receive the freedom that comes with living a life for Christ.
