You Are Not Beyond God’s Reach

Do you ever feel like you have gone too far for God to reach you? Like you have made too many mistakes or messed up too much for God to love you? No matter what you have done, you need to know that you are loved unconditionally. You are not beyond God’s reach!

God’s grace for us is immeasurable. He does not see us and look at our track record, trying to decide if we are worthy of His grace. The truth is, none of us deserve Christ’s love and salvation, but still God takes away all our shame and forgives us of our sins the moment we call on Him to save us.

But maybe you are thinking, “Yeah, but you don’t know what I have done. God can’t love someone like me.” Or maybe you used to believe it, but you have made choices that are not aligned with God’s will. Often times we believe that God has a limit when it comes to grace and forgiveness. We wonder if this time, we really have gone too far.

If only you could see how much He loves you, right now in this moment. You, beloved, are not out of His reach. He will never stop pursuing you and inviting you back home.

I am often reminded of the parable of the lost sheep. In this example, Jesus beautifully gives us a picture of His heart for us.

“Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” -Luke 15:3-7 NIV

God isn’t afraid to find you in the places where you think His love can’t reach. Because just like the shepherd, He will leave the ninety-nine to go after the one. When we have wandered, when we have strayed, He goes to the ends of the earth to save you and me.

So maybe this week, you have been fighting old habits or are overwhelmed with guilt and shame from your past or made a choice that makes you feel isolated from Him. Whatever it is that has been replaying in your head telling you that God’s grace is not enough to cover you, the fact is, that’s simply not true.

God is reaching out and surrounding you with His love. He is passionately pursuing you and tenderly calling you back to know the depths of His grace and forgiveness. No matter what you are facing or feeling, you can know that you are not beyond God’s reach.
