Anna – 2014 Graduate
I was adopted and felt unwanted by my biological parents. I was bullied a lot because of my appearance and my lack of comprehension in school. People rejected my friendship, so I developed the sense that I was the problem. Thus, depression and other issues came into my life. I was also sexually abused in grade school and then again at 16.
My mom got me the Mercy book Cut. Three years later, I acknowledged I needed more help, and I decided to apply to the program.
After a few weeks into the program, I was set on leaving Mercy. Satan wanted to take me out through my homesickness, but I decided to stay. That was the best decision I’ve ever made. After that, I fought for my freedom. I had my bad days, but I made it. Week by week, I got stronger as I defeated the enemy.
God has done so much for me through Mercy. He has healed my heart from the sexual abuse and the shame I carried because of it. He is restoring my family. My self-worth is getting so much better, and I’m learning to love me. I’ve learned to forgive those who hurt me. Renewing my mind is so vital to my healing!
My plan is to go back to school and eventually earn my degree in criminal justice and psychology.
Thank you, Mercy donors, for helping me to gain my healing and freedom!
