Before Mercy, I suffered from frequent panic attacks, major depression, and was involved in inappropriate relationships. I used alcohol to numb the pain and shame of being taken advantage of, abused, and rejected. I hated myself.

I heard about Mercy in 2011 when I did a Mercy 5K. I applied because my boyfriend broke up with me, and I felt that I had little reason to live anymore. I told God that either I go to Mercy or I would commit suicide.

When I came to Mercy, I had a very shallow relationship with God even though I was saved. But while there, God reintroduced Himself to me. Mercy taught me to reject the lie that I am not worth it or that I can never be free or healed of my addictions. I began to believe that I deserved to live the life that Christ died for me to have.

I have been set free from my addictions, and I now have the tools to continue in that freedom! God has given me back my joy and passion for worship and ministry. I know where my identity is found. After Mercy, I plan to pursue a degree in worship ministry.

Thank you so much Mercy donors for giving of your time and resources to be able to bless me with a free place to live. Your support has helped me discover who I am in Christ and set me free from the life controlling issues I was suffering from!
