Amanda – 2010 Graduate

Before I came to Mercy, I was sexually and verbally abused. My way of coping was to stuff down my feelings. I struggled with rejection, low self-worth, and feeling unloved. I did not want to forgive my abuser. I heard about Mercy from a friend and decided to apply because I wanted to move on from my past.

While at Mercy, God healed my heart and showed me how faithful and trustworthy He is. I learned to recognize the lies of the Enemy and replace them with the Truth.

Life after Mercy has not been easy, just like doing the program. It’s been hard work, but it’s been worth it. I have walked through several scary experiences, but continue to choose freedom. I’m working on my degree in Medical Coding and Billing. I’m completely independent and live in my own apartment with a little therapy dog, Lucy. Truthfully, God has used my setbacks for my good. God started my healing at Mercy and continues to heal me more daily!
