Abbie – 2012 Graduate
I always had a sense that I didn’t belong, and I was not good enough. I tried to measure up, but always failed. I felt extremely controlled and stuck. I tried to find some sense of control through self-harm, bulimia and alcohol, hoping something would fill the emptiness I felt. I tried to help myself get better but didn’t make any progress. I knew that I needed to reach out for help, and I knew Christ could help me, so I decided to apply to Mercy.
At Mercy, God completely filled the gap that I was trying to fill with other things. He has shown me that I am fully loved and accepted just as I am. I have learned there is nothing I can do that can make Him love me more or less.
After Mercy, I will be attending YWAM (Youth with a Mission) discipleship training in London. After that, I plan to go to college and get a degree in sociology and business.
