Any donor who plans to give a meaningful gift that is connected to estate to Mercy Multiplied is considered a member.
We know that everyone has different financial circumstances. All gifts do make a difference and are important.
Many donors choose to leave their gift unrestricted to allow the Mercy Multiplied governing board to direct the earnings where the need is greatest. However, Mercy Multiplied America has specific options to which you can designate your funds:
- undesignated for highest needs at the time
- for use at a specific home
- for facility improvements
- for high-priority programs identified by the board of directors
We know that members of the Mercy Multiplied Legacy Society choose to give to and that their gifts say something about what was important to them and how they want to be remembered. Therefore, options are available to meet individual circumstances. The majority of gifts are received in these forms:
- Current gifts of cash or cash equivalents
- Planned gifts including:
- Bequests through wills or Living Trusts
- Naming Mercy Multiplied as a beneficiary of retirement plans
- Naming Mercy Multiplied as a beneficiary of insurance policies
- Bequests through Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trust and Charitable Gift Annuity
- Unrestricted Gift: A gift that can be used where need is greatest
I give, devise, and bequeath to Mercy Multiplied, _______(Dollars)* to be used for its general purposes. - Residuary Bequest: Leaves any remainder after all other bequests have been paid
I give, devise, and bequeath to Mercy Multiplied, ________ percent of the residue of my estate to be used for its general purposes. - Contingency Gift: Takes effect only if a primary intention can’t be met.
In the event that __________ predeceases me, I give, devise, and bequeath his/her bequest or share to Mercy Multiplied, to be used for its general purposes.
* Rather than leaving a sum certain, you can include language that refers to a percentage of your estate or a description of the property you wish to give.
Bequest provisions designated for a specific program or activity require additional language. Unless otherwise designated, all gifts given to Mercy Multiplied will be placed in the unrestricted operating budget. If you wish for your bequest to benefit a specific home, please make certain this is clearly stated. It is best to contact Mercy Multiplied in advance to ensure that your wishes are properly understood.
