I grew up in a family of women who believed that lying and manipulating were the best way to get what you wanted in life. I was never content with what I had. I cheated on my husband, lied repeatedly to my new husband, and lost custody of two of my children. I was very angry and resentful with everyone around me for all the problems in my life. I have been sexually, physically and verbally abused throughout my life and finally reached a breaking point when I was diagnosed with bipolar depression and PTSD. I felt my life spinning out of control.
I found out about Mercy through a friend of my husband’s. We knew that if our marriage was going to make it, I had to get in. I was at the lowest point of hopelessness that I have ever been.
At Mercy, I received words from the Lord through a speaker that came to the home. It showed me that God really is there for me and that things are going to be okay.
I have learned that lying is never God’s will and truth is always the right answer. I have learned that I don’t have to do anything to receive God’s love. I know that He is always there even if no one else is. I know that He will never let me down, even when times are tough.
I am going home to my family to be the best wife and mommy to my family. I know God created me to be this woman. I want to start my own meal-planning and personal grocery shopping business for elderly people and working women.
To the Mercy staff and donors, thank you for taking a chance on me. I could not have found the hope and courage I know have in Jesus without Mercy. My family will be made whole again because of what I have gained here, and that is priceless to me.
