This month, Mercy Multiplied received a special gift earmarked for an overhaul of the ministry’s website. Staff members were delighted when the gift was announced, and Erin Gentry, Senior Director of Outreach at Mercy, said that funds for this project are a blessing. “We are grateful to God for this gift,” Gentry said. “A website overhaul serves every part of our ministry and makes it possible for people to access all the things our donors make it possible for us to offer! When a young woman or a scared parent is looking at our program for the first time, or when a pastor or ministry leader needs discipleship resources, you don’t have much time to make a good first impression. Our current website is struggling, so this new site is essential to serving every person who comes to us for help!”
In addition to the website funds, designated gifts have been received in 2025 to replace an obsolete phone system and one of the HVAC units at the Nashville ministry headquarters. At the Center for Wellness and Counseling in Monroe, Louisiana, designated gifts will fund the remodeling of a bathroom and the installation of updated lighting. “We give all glory to God for the funds we have received this year for special projects!” said Caronda Williams, Mercy’s Community Relationship Manager in Monroe. “The remodeled men’s bathroom will be a big blessing to our male clients at the CWC, and the new lighting has already improved the look and feel of our meeting spaces.”
Mercy still has a list of unfunded capital projects for 2025, and some of them were carried over from last year’s list of unfunded projects.
“Across our four properties, HVAC systems are wearing out,” says Meaghan Briggs, Mercy’s Chief Operating Officer. “The HVAC system in St. Louis is a major need. Right now, there is a broken sidewalk at the Nashville home that requires substantial repair, and some spaces in our California home are overdue for new furniture.” Briggs says replacing worn furniture at the California facility is particularly challenging because state regulations require a high fire-resistant rating for furnishings in residential facilities. “In St. Louis, our facility needs an updated security system consistent with the current use of that building,” Briggs added. “We also need patio furniture at that location to serve our Keys to Freedom Retreat participants.”
Mercy Multiplied is an entirely donor-funded ministry that currently operates facilities in four U.S. locations, utilizing funds received from donors to provide programs and resources that help people find freedom in Christ. These programs and resources are offered free of charge. Additional ministry needs are met with special gifts received for specific purposes. Lauren Hobar, Mercy’s Senior Director of Development, isn’t daunted by the list of needs. “Mercy has the most amazing community of donors,” says Hobar. “We are continually amazed at the generosity of our supporters, and the ways God abundantly provides for Mercy through their faithful giving!”
