We go through so many kinds of seasons in life. Some are full of joy, while others are full of grief and sadness. But no matter what type of season you are in, it’s important to remember one thing – it’s okay not to be okay.
And when we find ourselves simply feeling like we are not okay and don’t know who or where to turn to, the one place that never fails is the Word of God. The Bible is full of scripture that can speak to so many different areas of life. But we also know that the Bible is a pretty big book, so we wanted to share with you a few places in God’s Word to turn to and encourage you when you’re not okay.
10 Scriptures for When You’re Not Okay
Deuteronomy 31:8-9
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
Psalm 145:18-19
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.
Isaiah 43: 1-2
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Matthew 11:28

Romans 15:13

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
He Will Never Forsake Us
These scriptures remind us that even when we are not okay, God will never forsake us. He is there to comfort, guide, and give us peace as we face so many of life’s challenges. As you reflect on these promises, ask The Lord to fill you with the peace and hope that only He can provide.
