My life was empty and exhausting before coming to Mercy. I felt like I had no purpose and no direction. I felt trapped in my bondage and wanted to give up. I struggled with depression, alcohol and drug abuse, and had a past of physical and sexual abuse.

I found out about Mercy while I was in the hospital on suicide watch. Before almost being sent to a detox facility, my case worker recommended Mercy to me. Something inside told me to apply and not knowing what else to do, I did.

Arriving at Mercy, I was full of anger hidden behind a mask. I was exhausted down to my core, and I was there out of desperation. But as I continued my stay, the Lord began to reawaken my dreams and helped me realize all my pain was growing and shaping me into the stable young woman I am today. He healed me not only emotionally but physically as well. He delivered me from addiction, rage, anxiety, and depression. He showed me the many ways He loves me and the depth of His love. He introduced me to a new me I never knew could exist!

After graduation, I plan on going to college and achieving my English degree so I can pursue my newfound dream of being a teacher and lifelong dream of becoming a writer. I also want to be as involved in ministry as I can.

Mercy donors, thank you so much for the part you have played in transforming my life! You may never know me personally, but just know that a young woman kept her life because of your donation. Thank you so very much, from the bottom of my heart.
