Alexis – 2017 Graduate
I grew up in an abusive environment. When I was five, I was raped by someone I should have been able to trust. In this, I was forced to grow up at an early age. This led to a lot of shame and guilt which followed with bad relationships and a lot abandonment issues.
I learned about Mercy Multiplied after a friend confronted me about my behavior and told me that I needed to get my life together. I applied because I desperately wanted healing. I walked in broken, angry, and with walls all around me.
The biggest turning point for me during my Mercy journey was when I learned God’s true character and what He says about me. It helped me see where He was at in the dark times in my life and brought much healing.
God has not only revealed my true identity, but He has given me my voice back, which I hadn’t had in years. Mercy has taught me integrity, character, and grace—some of the most important tools for my journey ahead.
After Mercy, I plan on attending college to get a bachelor’s degree in sports management and a minor in business. I want to open a non-profit organization for young men and women to express their talents and for them to place God in the center of their dreams. Also, in the future I want to learn to use my gifts to glorify God and move in the next generation to come.
Nancy, thank you so much for following the calling God had on your life. Not only has God saved my life through Mercy, but thousands of others. You truly are a world changer, and I’m truly humbled to walk my journey out and start using my gifts to make a difference in the world and lives around me.
