Go Back to Lives Transformed

Emma – 2017 Graduate

Emma | 2017 Mercy GraduateI had endured physical, mental, and verbal abuse from close family members when I was younger, which left me feeling very insecure and full of self-doubt. My parents divorced when I was very young, and this led to me seeking unhealthy friendships. These unhealthy friendships eventually led to sexual abuse as well as prostitution. I also went through two abortions and struggled with self-harm, which left me both physically and emotionally scarred. I had a lot of fear and anxiety throughout my developmental years.

I learned about Mercy Multiplied at a women’s conference many years before I needed to apply. When I became desperate for healing, I applied because I knew I needed a new foundation for my faith. I was very broken when I arrived.

At Mercy, one major turning point in my journey was when I went through the “Renewing Your Mind” teaching and learned how to take thoughts captive and recognize the enemy’s lies. I discovered that my true worth and value lies in Christ and not my past.

God has helped me to build trust through friendships I built while at Mercy. He has also helped me rebuild a loving and personal relationship with Him where I feel secure in my purpose and calling. He has given me a new motivation for life and a passion for my future.

After Mercy, I would like to start a group at my church for other single moms and eventually get a degree in psychology to counsel women post abortion and women struggling with PTSD. I plan to get a full-time job at a school while attending school online.

I want to thank all the Mercy donors for not only investing in my life financially, but for making a lasting impact on my life and my daughters’ lives. Your donations made it possible for me to experience full freedom and gain the tools to become the mother my girls need. Thanks to your generous blessings, I am able to live a life that is free of past hurts.
