Friends of Mercy luncheons highlight the miraculous life transformations happening at Mercy Multiplied and share how community members can make a difference in the lives of hurting girls. On Thursday, May 4th, the Sacramento Mercy home held a Friends of Mercy Luncheon.

Each luncheon features a complimentary meal with current Mercy residents, an inspiring story of hope and transformation, and an opportunity to tour the home. LRG Lending, a community partner of Mercy, sponsored the luncheon in which 40 guests attended.

A current Sacramento resident shared encouraging scripture with the guests and told her story of how she’s learned to see God as a Heavenly Father since she does not have an earthly father. Ashley, a 2015 Mercy graduate, shared how she overcame depression, suicidal thoughts, and an eating disorder. She shared about God’s loving character and how she now gets to multiply what she learned through the Mercy program by mentoring girls at Destiny Church, the “home church” for all Sacramento Mercy residents.

After the testimonies, Community Board Member Marilyn Lapkass encouraged guests to get involved. She emphasized  Mercy’s 94% success rate, Mercy graduate lives transformed, and how to become a Friend of Mercy sponsor.  Afterwards, the guests stayed for a special tour of the Sacramento home and got equipped with Mercy resources.

Kerri Phillips, Community Relations Manager for Mercy, said she’s grateful for all the community encouragement and response. “I’m so thankful to be part of this ministry. I love seeing the people in our community get involved and become the ‘Me in Mercy!’”
