Last week, we were blessed to have 345 participants in 31 states join us for our annual Run for Mercy 5K and Family Walk—both in person at Mercy host sites and virtually from communities across the country! As of today, we have raised over $45,000 to help more people experience healing and freedom in Christ.
We are continually overwhelmed by the generosity and commitment of our supporters who partner with us to provide opportunities for those we serve to encounter God’s unconditional love, forgiveness, and life-transforming power.
Throughout the week and on race day, participants shared their experiences on social media, and we loved seeing the incredible support from all over! From our in-person Mercy host sites filled with energy, encouragement, and community, to individuals and teams completing their miles in neighborhoods, parks, and trails—this year’s Run for Mercy was a powerful display of unity and purpose. Many teams brought creativity and celebration to their race day with signs, matching shirts, and festive finish line moments!
Our Senior Development Event Manager, Lauren Hobar, shared this about this year’s event:
“Watching our residents train and accomplish their goal of completing a 5K is so powerful—especially knowing that people across the country are running and fundraising for Mercy, running for them and for their freedom. This outpouring of generosity is what allows more people to find healing and hope in Christ.”
Here are some of the encouraging words shared by residents about their experiences during this year’s race:
“I loved the 5k. It made me feel so accomplished finishing the race, and it was so good getting out there and running with my Mercy sisters and supporters!” – Sophia
“Participating in the 5k helped me know that I can accomplish hard things. It was a great experience. 10/10” – Madison
“It was really encouraging to see how many people were there to support what we are at Mercy to do, not just in Nashville, but all of the US” – Gabrielle
We are so grateful for the impact this event continues to have—not only in raising support, but in creating moments of hope, encouragement, and breakthrough for those we serve. We are also incredibly thankful for everyone who fundraised, gave, volunteered, and participated in this year’s Run for Mercy.
