Charity Navigator Four Star RankingMercy Multiplied has earned the most coveted 4-star rank from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. Due in part to Mercy’s sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency, they’re placed among a select, high-performing quarter of top rated charities for the tenth time.

Charity Navigator President and CEO, Michael Thatcher, wrote in a congratulatory letter to Mercy Founder and President, Nancy Alcorn, that this “exceptional” designation differentiates Mercy from its peers and verifies that Mercy “adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way.”

In its 35 years of existence, Mercy Multiplied’s residential program has provided hope and healing to thousands of young women struggling with life-controlling issues. Since 1983, Mercy has operated on its three foundational principles: (1) accept girls free of charge; (2) always gives at least ten percent of all donations to other organizations and ministries; and (3) do not take state or federal funding or any money that interferes with the freedom to share Christ.

For every dollar raised, Mercy spends over 86% on direct program expenses.  “At Mercy, we have a commitment to transparency and accountability. Our intent is to model integrity and steward the resources God has entrusted to Mercy,” said Mercy’s Executive Director, Leah Hayes. “Being rated as a 4-star organization for 10 years demonstrates that we take stewardship very seriously.”

The direct impact donors have on the lives of the young women Mercy serves is reflected in its high success rate. According to an independent study, 94% of former Mercy residents surveyed responded “YES” when asked, “Did Mercy help you transform your life and restore your hope?”

High-performance evaluations like those of Charity Navigator help highlight the success rate and financial health of organizations like Mercy Multiplied and with more than 1.5 million charities in America, donors can have confidence in their charitable decisions.
