Easter is always a special time in our Mercy homes. There is so much to be grateful for, and this year all of our residents received an extra special blessing from generous donors. Residents in our homes celebrated the resurrection of Christ in a variety of different ways.

On Good Friday, our Sacramento residents walked through the Stations of the Cross, where they experienced the journey Jesus took to the cross and remembered why we celebrate His resurrection. Mercy staff washed the residents’ feet and prayed for them one by one. Saturday evening, they virtually attended the Living Hope Night of Worship with Phil Wickham. The event also featured special guests, Brandon Lake, and Louie Giglio.

Sunday morning, residents woke up to Easter baskets filled with many beautiful gifts such as a personalized journal and pens, stamps, gift cards, and candy! Later that morning, they virtually attended North Point Community Church’s Easter Sunday Service.

In St. Louis, residents made flower crosses on Friday as an art project with supplies donated by two local small groups from Gateway Christian Church and Grace Church St. Louis. On Sunday, residents received beautiful Easter baskets filled with gifts from local Mercy supporters and cards of encouragement from the dance teams at Heavenly Rhythm Dance Studio.

A few of our residents shared how meaningful these gifts were to them:

“Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and kind hearts.” -St. Louis resident

“It’s such a blessing having someone care, especially being away from home. It made today even more special- thank you for your love and support!” -St. Louis resident

Our Nashville residents kicked off Easter weekend decorating and dying Easter eggs on Saturday morning. Easter Sunday, the residents enjoyed a special lunch and opened gift bags donated by Crossland Church! After attending church, they had an Easter egg hunt where they looked for eggs all over the property.

“Although this Easter has been different, it will always have a special place in my heart. I’m so very thankful for my thoughtful gifts and kindness displayed to me and all the other girls at Mercy.” – Nashville Resident

“Thank you so much for our making Easter 2021 special. I never celebrated Easter for its true meaning. I felt special today because you guys (Crossland Church) were thinking of Mercy girls. We appreciate your gifts and your generosity for others.” – Nashville Resident

We want to thank everyone who made our residents feel extra special this Easter. Your kindness has truly blessed our residents and shown them the love of Christ!
