“Working for the greater good” is what one major online job board cites as the number one reason people love their nonprofit jobs. Employees at Mercy Multiplied would agree.

“Mercy Multiplied doesn’t just change the lives of the home residents,” said Cherice Hereford, Mercy’s Donor Database & Cash Receipts Specialist. “Mercy’s mission is far-reaching and deeply impactful to the lives of so many, including its employees.”

Hereford joined the Mercy Multiplied corporate team less than a year ago, but understands how her role, even in the Treasury Department, makes a difference in the lives of the hurting young women who come to Mercy’s residential program. “I am privileged to work with such a kind and hardworking staff, and I’m eager to see God continue to work in and through us to affect more young women’s lives,” she said.

In its 34-year history, Mercy Multiplied has grown to employ approximately 140 staff in an effort to provide opportunities and resources to all to experience God’s unconditional love, forgiveness, and life-transforming power. About 15-20 staff work in each of Mercy’s four U.S. residential homes for young women located in Monroe, La.; Nashville, Tenn.; Sacramento, Calif.; and St. Louis, Mo. Additionally, about 35-40 staff work in Mercy’s corporate headquarters located in Nashville, Tenn.

“I had no idea how much my life would be impacted when I found Mercy in 2006!” shared veteran employee Ashley MacLachlan, Mercy’s Director of Intake. “I worked in clinical residential/outpatient settings for 17 years when Mercy came across my path. I can say with confidence, the level of excellence and integrity in both staff and programs is something I have not experienced in any other organization. The opportunity to impact the lives of young women who are seeking freedom and change in their lives is rewarding, but coupled with seeing the transformation that occurs is like nothing I ever experienced in my many years of work prior to Mercy.”

“Mercy has helped thousands of young women be restored to wholeness,” said Jamillah Jackson, Mercy’s Director of Human Resources. “It is an incredible blessing to serve alongside skilled, passionate and hardworking staff to accomplish the mission of Mercy. No matter what position we hold, each of us has a part in the awesome work God is doing here, and that is so fulfilling!” She went onto say, “We invest in software and state-of-the-art programs too to aid with this. We currently use Justworks which is considered the best of the bunch.”

Because Mercy’s residential homes serve young women who may have suffered rape, incest, or other forms of sexual and physical abuse, all staff who work directly with the residents are women. “We are able to consider men for positions in our corporate office and encourage them to submit the required information if they desire such a position,” said Jackson.

Some fun benefits of working at Mercy Multiplied include the frequent opportunity for staff to hear from leading Bible teachers and Christian speakers/authors, casual Friday and other special occasion dress-up days, monthly birthday celebrations, and a weekly “Awesome Award” recognition.

A main benefit that sets Mercy apart as a nonprofit Christian employer is the opportunities it offers its staff to exercise their faith. Time is set aside each week for large group devotions and departmental prayer. Additionally, colleagues pray individually for one another through a rotating prayer partner chain. A prayer Mercy Multipliedroom is also available to staff for personal prayer and reflection.

“I came to Mercy because it offered an opportunity to walk out faith and work together,” MacLachlan shared. “I have stayed at Mercy because it has grown and challenged me personally and professionally, the leadership and staff are of the highest caliber, and I love seeing people step into healing and the fullness of life.”

Mercy is currently looking for skilled, enthusiastic, service-minded people to join its team. If you believe God has called you to be a part of Mercy, and you are interested in working in a positive and rewarding Christian environment, please view our current Employment Opportunities list.
