My life before Mercy was very out of control. I was depressed and suicidal. I was very mentally unstable and was drinking every single day. I was restricting my food for the day and then bingeing. I started self-harming and having panic attacks.

I found out about Mercy through a friend I made when I was in treatment years ago who ended up coming to Mercy and told me about it. I decided to apply because I was really scared of my mental state and felt like I needed to be in a safe place, so I didn’t kill myself. When I arrived, I was very depressed and hopeless.

At Mercy, I began the slow process of renewing my mind. Even though I wasn’t always comfortable, God was still seeing me through. One day I had a breakdown, and I told the staff I needed to be at a mental hospital. They all came around me in my most vulnerable state of mind and spoke truth over me. I think them standing by me that day was a turning point for me.

During my time at Mercy, God has healed my heart and mind. I learned who I truly am, and I learned how to fight the spiritual battle that I am in. I learned that the Holy Spirit can give me strength and can show me how to walk in victory.

After Mercy, I am going to Bible college. I plan to be involved with my new church and get a job. Also, I want to serve the community and tell everyone about Jesus Christ.

To the donors, thank you for making it possible for me to come to Mercy. I would have never been able to afford a program and this program has been the most amazing experience of my life. I could never express the freedom and hope I have found at Mercy.
