Life before Mercy was a series of ups and downs. It wasn’t a life I wanted to live. I felt like a shell of a person and was desperately afraid that someone would discover there was nothing inside.

I found out about Mercy from a friend who graduated from the program a few years ago. When I arrived, I was very angry and bitter. I had never known God as a personal loving God. I saw Him through a very legalistic and bitter lens.

A turning point for me happened on July 7th, when I finally leveled with myself and with God. I realized I had a problem with allowing people to take care of me and decided to try and ask Him to take my walls down. God has completely transformed my view of Him since I’ve been at Mercy. I have developed a personal relationship with Him and I feel like for the first time, I’m walking in line with His will for my life.

After Mercy, I plan to pursue a career in acting. My hope is to bring Jesus a bigger spotlight in media and create a bigger space for representation in secular media for Christian characters.

Thank you to Mercy donors for saving my life! Thank you for providing a place where I could learn just how much I am loved by God. There aren’t enough “thank yous” that I could say to truly portray how full my heart of love is for you all.
