Go Back to Lives Transformed

Holly – 2014 Graduate

HollyOI grew up in a Christian home, and Jesus was always a part of my life. However, somewhere along the way I realized that I had suppressed being molested. Because of that, I always had a lost sense of identity. I didn’t like who I was. I started drinking, and after getting raped while under the influence, I felt worthless. I turned to sex and harder drugs to try to escape the person I hated—me. I was mistreated and bullied, and what people thought about me became my identity. I felt like I had no purpose.

My mom found out about Mercy through my church pastor. I decided to apply because it was a Christian program. The way I was living wasn’t working, and I knew God was the answer.

While at Mercy, learning to renew my mind and see myself the way God sees me was a huge thing for me. He took my sin; the cross makes me righteous! I was miraculously delivered from all past sexual sin and shame. I also learned I can do nothing in my own strength and must instead depend on Him.

God has done so much in my life during my time at Mercy. He has healed me and given me a purpose. I’ve learned I am righteous and I am royalty, a princess, and an heir to the throne in the Lord’s Kingdom.

After graduation, I will be attending a Bible school and majoring in worship and global missions.

To all of Mercy’s donors, thank you so much!
