Go Back to Lives Transformed

Brianna – 2014 Graduate

Brianna RBefore Mercy, I was dead on the inside. I had no life in my words or light in my smile. I was fake and did what I could to deceive people into thinking I had it all together. In reality, I self-harmed, drank, smoked and got high to deal with my pain and numb my emotions. Due to my distorted perception of beauty, I developed an eating disorder. At home, I was surrounded by chaos and verbal abuse.

I found out about Mercy through a graduate. I decided to apply because my issues had taken complete control of me. I didn’t even want to live anymore. When I first got to Mercy, I put up walls and kept my distance from the other girls. I was very shy and didn’t know how to express myself with my words.

During my time at Mercy, God has freed me from my depression, self-harm and eating disorders. He has taken away my desire to drink and do drugs. He has given me joy in my heart and hope for my future.

After graduation, I plan on getting a full-time job and volunteering with my hometown fire department. I also want to get involved in mission trips to help orphanages. I would love to help bring joy and restoration to children’s lives!

Thank you so much, Mercy donors, for all that you have done for this ministry. Your giving has allowed me to come to a place full of love and acceptance so I could receive healing and restoration. My life has been forever changed, and I am never going back to the person I used to be.
