“After my divorce, we discovered that my ex-husband was sexually abusing our children. My kids faced years of medical and psychological treatment. I spent years fighting in court until he was convicted. Many wounds were opened that changed my path of life and the way I faced people who hurt me.

I was very fearful in the weeks before the start of the Keys to Freedom class. I would cry a lot or get angry and irritated for any reason without realizing that this behavior was my psychological response to the possibility of revisiting old wounds. I remember that I called my mother and said that for many years I escaped therapy, but if it were to revisit my wounds, it would be in therapy with Jesus. And this was exactly my vision of Keys to Freedom; I was in therapy with Jesus!

It would be expected that due to my experience I would be the perfect lock for the key to forgiveness, but to my surprise, many other teachings were waiting for me. The identification of roots and their branches as a representation of how our traumas and experiences in life are directly related to how we behave. I learned not only how to identify my roots but also how to respond to situations in a different way.

Today I leave this course with less weight to carry. I close my classes with a watchful eye to identify what the enemy can use as bait to imprison my feelings and keep me from a fullness of life in the presence of God. Above all, I am totally aware that I am a work in progress. And the more I approach my Father to hear His whispers, the more I walk freely in His presence.”
