STL Residents Serve Jump Kids

St. Louis Mercy residents ready to serve at JUMP! KIDS

Last Wednesday, the St. Louis Mercy residents were among the hundreds of volunteers who served the 3,000 kids attending JUMP! KIDS day camp held by St. Louis Family Church (SLFC) in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Mercy Multiplied has been connected with SLFC for many years. The St. Louis Mercy residents attend week-night services at SLFC and annually serve at JUMP! KIDS camp.

JUMP! KIDS is a four-day day camp experience held on the SLFC campus. Throughout the month of June, over 6,000 elementary and middle school kids attend this high-energy camp filled with crafts, carnival games, theatrical presentations, and field and water park activities. The camp is also held internationally in Kosovo, South Africa, and Albania.

Each year, the Mercy residents volunteer to work in the JUMP! water park, supervising activities and playing with the kids. The residents find JUMP! to be a way to have some summer fun and also give back to their local church. Here’s what a few of them had to say about the experience:

I loved getting a chance to see so many kids alive for Christ and to watch them experience true joy. JUMP! really goes all out to show kids the time of their lives and how much God loves them. –Tessa

Getting to be around the kids at JUMP! and just being able to show them Jesus through having fun was so valuable to me. I’m not much of a kid person, but taking my focus off of dealing with issues and putting it on being silly with kiddos was refreshing. Altogether, it was just a great time to be able to serve some awesome kids! –Taylor

JUMP! was such an amazing experience. The kids really seemed to be able to be themselves and just have fun because they knew their acceptance by Christ and by each other. It was so fun and rewarding to be part of this awesome event! –Sydney

Mercy Multiplied is grateful for SLFC and the ministry they provide not only to youth from the Chesterfield and St. Louis region, but also to the Mercy residents while they are attending the Mercy program.
